How We Do It
Case Study 2
A Glimpse of Our Work
Clients come to Shazaaam! because they're looking for results. We pride ourselves on delivering just that..
2. When the competition plays dirty, fight back with Internet force.
Take it electronic
What does an ethical, pioneering client like ours do when its competitor makes false claims about their own product — most specifically, claiming to be first to market. Here's how we helped our client "fight back," regain its rightful market position and win.
Our client, a mid sized consumer products company, had developed an innovative product that was taking the market by storm. A much larger consumer products company hired a PR firm to begin a campaign to undermine our client's rightful position and retro-hype a "me-too" "copy-cat" product that was similar to our client's breakthrough product. The competitor and its PR firm claimed they were first to come to market with the product and prior to their PR and forthcoming launch no product like it had ever existed.
Shazaaam's Solution:
The Internet was our weapon of choice to reestablish our client's supremacy!. Shazaaam! and client dispatched sophisticated "blogger teams" to prime the pump as representatives of our client. And so began an electronic public awareness campaign of mammoth proportion.
The results speak for themselves:
- tens of thousands of consumer hits at our client's website
- enhanced product distribution
- establishing our client's rightful position by getting designated one of "most innovative products of the year" by the New York Times
- mentions and placements on national TV including the Today Show and Good Morning America
- national and international print media coverage
- thousands of blog mentions taking on a life of their own
- unparalleled search engine optimization
- forcing the competition to delay the launch of their copycat product by more than eighteen months
- leaving the competition no choice except for "no comment" responses to the media. (*** saying "no comment" to the media is a very bad thing…)
